Resident Care Associate Join our team at Viva Senior Living as a Resident Care Associate. You will work in the Nursing department and report directly to the Resident Care Director. This is a full‑time position.

Position Summary:

The Resident Care Associate provides direct, compassionate care to residents, supports the implementation of individualized care plans, participates in daily living activities, and collaborates with the nursing and interdisciplinary team to ensure residents receive the highest quality of service.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Provide direct care to residents and contribute to continuity of care and effective communication by reporting care provided and changes in a resident’s condition to the Resident Care Director immediately.

Assist residents with lifts, moves, and transports, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.

Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, and other personnel promptly and courteously within established time frames and policy.

Utilize individualized care plans to support residents per their plan; provide information to charge nurse or care planning staff with observations of residents’ needs and preferences.

Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors to promote a homelike environment.

Fully understand residents’ rights and promptly report incidents of abuse or violations of residents’ rights to the charge nurse or administrative staff.

Perform job responsibilities following safety and infection control procedures, including hand washing, use of disposable gloves, and proper disposal of soiled materials; care that maintains skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers and skin tears.

Arrive to work at the scheduled time and perform other related duties as required.

Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information, report non‑compliance with policies, and protect residents from abuse.

Participate in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings, and assist during evacuation of residents in emergency situations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Must adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and follow the terms of employment as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Must possess compassion, dignity, and a commitment to residents’ rights and safety.

Must maintain the highest standards in caring for residents and families.

Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures.

Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Physical & Sensory Requirements

Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.

Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.

Ability to see and hear, or use prosthetics that allow adequate function to meet job duties.

Meet general health requirements per facility policy, including a medical and physical examination.

Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset residents.

Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and move the weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
