LEAD Program Coordinator for Christian Afterschool and Summer Program __ MentorKids USA is a Christian organization that equips and empowers youth to be transformative leaders in their lives, their families, and their communities.

Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and organized

LEAD Program Coordinator

for the 2025–2026 school year to oversee the day-to-day operations of our afterschool and summer programs in our Maryvale Promise Neighborhood, serving up to 80 K–8th grade students. This full-time role involves planning and leading enrichment activities, supervising staff and volunteers, and creating a safe and engaging environment.

The ideal candidate is proactive, relational, and has experience in youth ministry or education. They will bring a heart for discipleship, strong classroom or behavior management skills, and a commitment to engaging youth, families, and the community. This individual will also foster an atmosphere that promotes spiritual growth, academic success, and leadership development.

Schedule:

After-School Program (August–May):

Monday–Thursday, 12:00–6:00 PM

Flexibility to work remotely during non-program hours

Summer Program (June):

Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (4 weeks)

Key Responsibilities:

Lead daily on-site operations of afterschool and summer programs

Implement structured programming that includes academic support, spiritual development, leadership training, and extra-curricular activities such as sports and dance

Supervise and support program staff, volunteers, and iLEADers

Ensure a safe, welcoming, and values-aligned environment for all participants

Track and manage student attendance, behavior, and engagement; maintain records

Communicate regularly with parents, school staff, and community partners

Oversee program supplies, equipment, staying within program budget

Lead team meetings and training sessions for staff and volunteers

Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements

Drive students from school to the program site using a MentorKids-provided 15-passenger van

Support Neighborhood Manager with event planning for scheduled events

Meet weekly with the Program Neighborhood Manager

Step into leadership roles in the absence of the Neighborhood Manager

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of youth ministry, teaching, or related experience (certification not required)

Bilingual in English and Spanish required

A growing and vibrant Christian faith

Commitment to the mission and core values of MentorKids USA

Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Must be 21+ years old with a valid Arizona driver’s license

Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance background check
