ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(25%) Assesses client health needs, nursing care requirements, and delivery of nursing care on all assigned clients. Directs client assessments by other nursing staff. (25%) Plans care for assigned clients and directs the planning of care by other nursing staff. (25%) Evaluates effectiveness of plan of care; ensures responsible care is rendered to clients. (25%) Implements nursing actions in accordance with established standards of nursing practice and demonstrates competence in nursing care of the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric client. Self management and professional development: Holds self accountable for delivery of responsible care, demonstrates effective communication skills and interpersonal relationships. Assumes responsibility for own continued professional development and assists with the development of other staff members. Certifications and Licensures

A minimum of one year medical/surgical nursing experience. Operates equipment as outlined on orientation checklists, policy and procedures. Participates in equipment inservices and competencies as they relate to role expectations. Performs job skills outlined on orientation checklist as they relate to role expectations. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement as required by the Health System and the job description. Understands and is accountable for the Health System's customer service standards. Psychiatric Nurse:
Minimum of one year experience in inpatient, outpatient or community psychiatric nursing. ANCC Psychiatric Nurse certification preferred. Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear PPE; latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Must be able to move about the facility and perform the functions of the job as outlined. Vision and hearing abilities required with or without assistive devices. Frequently sit/stand/walk for long periods; postural changes may be required. Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens; follow MyMichigan Health policies. Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, maintain regular attendance, and stay awake. Dexterity: handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repeated movements. Physical Demand Level: Medium. Lift or carry 21-50 lbs occasionally; 20 lbs frequently; 10 lbs constantly. May involve walking/standing/pushing/pulling. Other Information
