Overview Sentara Health is recruiting a PRN Day shift Respiratory Therapist at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA. This role is part of an energetic team devoted to continuous improvement and peer coaching. The team provides foundation training and advances skill development to become a savvy therapist.
Required Qualifications
Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree required. Non-degreed applicants with RRT credentials prior to January 1, 2006 or military RT program graduates with RRT credentials will also be considered.
Certification/Licensure: State Respiratory license, NBRC RRT, BLS required at time of hire. New graduates must obtain NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire date.
Experience: None required; 1 year Respiratory Care experience preferred.

Hospital Overview Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977. The hospital completed a renovation in 2016, including two new patient towers, a beautiful atrium, and a multi-story parking garage. Sentara Leigh Hospital includes a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital and is recognized as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence. The facility also specializes in orthopedic and spine care, heart, vascular, maternity care, and general surgery and is home to the region’s only 24-hour hyperbaric oxygen program.
