What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Review medical staff and allied health practitioner appointment and reappointment applications for accuracy against external requirements
Verify and document practitioner credentials, including follow-up and second source verification as necessary
Maintain credential files according to Medical Staff Bylaws and federal/state regulations
Assist in organizing and developing meeting agendas for the Credentials Committee and Allied Health Professional Subcommittee
Document the results of verifications and inquiries as required by regulatory standards
What is Required (Qualifications)
Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
3 years of general office administration experience in a business, education, or healthcare environment
Knowledge of credentialing and privileging requirements in healthcare
Exceptional organizational and documentation skills
Ability to handle customer questions and complaints effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Associate's Degree
3 years of experience with physician credentialing and privileging in a healthcare setting
1 year of customer service experience
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM)
