Position Overview
Palmdale Regional Medical Center, part of Southwest Healthcare, is an acute care hospital located in Palmdale, CA.
The center is seeking a qualified Speech‑Language Pathologist to diagnose, evaluate, and provide therapeutic services to patients.
Position Description Responsible for the diagnostic, evaluative, and therapeutic procedures for the treatment of those disabled by illness or injury when prescribed by a licensed physician. Provides speech and language treatments to patients.
Qualifications
One year work experience in an acute hospital setting preferred.
Experience diagnosing and treating swallowing disorders.
Ability to analyze test results to determine patients’ communicative abilities and necessary therapy.
Completion of a Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
License to practice speech pathology by the California State Board of Medical Examiners and Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or a supervised application following State and ASHA guidelines.
Current BLS certificate required.
