Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Job Description A senior modeling and simulation engineer will support Combatant Command (CCMD) exercises by designing, building, and running modeling and simulations of ballistic missile defense systems and ballistic missile threats. Responsibilities include planning, configuring, monitoring, and implementing Missile Defense System (MDS) parameters into simulation software such as Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASIM) and Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM) to support distributive, virtual, and constructive exercises that model BMD systems and ballistic missile threats.
Essential Functions Support the technical lead in all aspects of MDS wargames and exercises modeling and simulation. Conduct System Engineering Integration and Test (SEI&T) element pre-test coordination, event execution, pre‑ and post‑mission testing. Attend weekly planning meetings and perform technical activities involving diverse network and architecture configurations. Configure and conduct on‑console support on designated modeling and simulation workstations that support CCMD and MDA BMD exercises. Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Required / Desired Knowledge and Skills
Experience with DoD wargames and exercises
Familiarity with the DoD Joint Event Life Cycle process
Familiarity with MDASIM, Open Systems Sensor Models (OSM), EADSIM or other M&S software
Desired software development experience
Self‑starter, able to multi‑task in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment
Able to configure and operate Windows and Linux workstations
Experience in DoD test processes and/or test execution desired
Flexible to support alternative shifts on a periodic basis to execute warfighter exercises
Travel up to 25%
MS in Engineering or Computer Science with 10+ years relevant experience; a BS in an Engineering/Computer Science field with 15+ years may be substituted
Secret clearance required
CompTIA Security+ desired
Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000. For this role the expected compensation is $93,371 – $132,300.
Clearance Level Secret clearance required.
ITAR Requirement This position requires access to information subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and/or the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR").
