Job Details We are seeking a seasoned Landfill Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, site development, grading, stormwater management, and landfill development. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to large‑scale projects that positively impact communities and the environment. Minimum 3 years of experience required.
Responsibilities
Design, plan, and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure, such as roads, railways, airports, bridges, harbors, dams, irrigation projects, power plants, and water and sewerage systems.
Conduct on‑site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings, and other).
Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications.
Assess potential risks, materials, and costs.
Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with stakeholders.
Handle operation and maintenance of the resulting structures and services for use.
Monitor progress and compile progress reports.
Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials.
Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety, etc., and deliver technical files and other required documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree will be considered an asset.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in civil engineering, site development, grading, stormwater management, and landfill development.
Proficient in design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
Project management and supervision skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional Engineer license.
In‑depth knowledge of engineering, technology, construction, and design.
Strong mathematical, scientific, and IT skills.
Ability to think methodically, design, plan and manage projects.
Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while attending to detailed technicalities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills with delegation abilities.
Understanding of environmental issues.
