Senior Product Development Engineer

Wages $100,000 - $150,000

Responsibilities
Lead concept generation, design, verification, and qualification of high‑speed IO products (112Gb and beyond).
Ensure product manufacturability and compliance with electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements.
Perform Design FMEA, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability, FEA analysis, and risk analysis.
Collaborate with marketing and customers to define functional requirements and assess technical risk.
Work with internal and external manufacturing disciplines (stamping, plating, molding, assembly) to optimize design for production processes.
Lead product design reviews and verify drawings for proper geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Coordinate with materials engineering to select metal and polymer materials based on performance, pricing, and sourcing.
Present product concepts to customers early in the development cycle and incorporate feedback into design.
Define product, application, and packaging specifications and verification/test plans.
Resolve first‑article inspection issues and support transition to manufacturing.
Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering for successful product launch.
Engage with global associates and provide mentorship as needed.
Qualifications
5+ years of electromechanical design experience.
Preferred familiarity with high‑speed cable assembly and/or connector design.
Knowledge of signal‑integrity design and performance optimization.
Experience with industry standards and design for quality practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent coursework).
Proficiency in SolidWorks, FEA simulation (ANSYS preferred), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and statistical engineering methods.
Ability to direct project activity and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Strong communication skills with global customers and internal stakeholders.
Skill in prioritizing work and managing multiple simultaneous projects.
