Position Job Overview The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial health and strategic growth through detailed analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. This position works closely with department leaders to compile budgets, monitor financial performance, and translate data into actionable insights. In a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, the Senior Financial Analyst contributes both to day-to-day financial operations and long-term planning initiatives, ensuring that leadership has the information needed to make informed business decisions.
Responsibilities/Duties
Support the annual budgeting process, including data collection, financial modeling, and preparation of budget summaries and presentations.
Monitor and analyze financial performance versus budget, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for departmental and company-wide use.
Partner with department heads to review budgets, develop forecasts, and provide financial guidance for decision‑making.
Assist with month‑end and quarter‑end financial reviews, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
Compile and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic and operational planning.
Analyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and the competitive landscape to provide recommendations for strategic decision making.
Assist with evaluation of potential investment opportunities including any mergers, acquisitions, and/or divestitures.
Develop and maintain financial models and reporting tools to support business initiatives and scenario planning.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and reporting accuracy.
Support the preparation of materials for senior leadership, investors, and other stakeholders.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA/CFA preferred.
4+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or related finance roles, preferably in a high‑growth or entrepreneurial environment.
This position requires U.S. work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship either now or ever!
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Excel and financial software (NetSuite, Power BI, or similar tools preferred).
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders.
Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable in a fast‑paced setting with shifting priorities.
Strong business acumen with a collaborative mindset and eagerness to take initiative.
