Your Role on the Team We are seeking an experienced Asset Analyst to support and optimize the performance of a portfolio of affordable housing properties. This role supports assets through all phases of the lifecycle, including lease‑up, rehabilitation, stabilized operations, and ongoing compliance periods.
The Asset Analyst works closely with internal teams and external partners, including ownership groups, equity partners, lenders, HUD representatives, state housing authorities, and stakeholders associated with LIHTC agreements. This position plays a key role in monitoring financial performance, operational metrics, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include analyzing financial and operational data, preparing reports and performance analyses, identifying trends and risks, and supporting strategies that enhance asset performance and long‑term value. The Asset Analyst collaborates across departments to ensure assets are operating efficiently and aligned with development, compliance, and investment objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support management of property‑level issues to improve asset performance and profitability
Analyze portfolio performance, including occupancy, budgets, and operating trends
Assist in identifying underperforming assets and support improvement initiatives
Track rehabilitation activity and evaluate impact on ongoing operations
Support compliance with IRC Section 42 and applicable regulatory requirements
Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and lenders
Conduct property inspections and assist with follow‑up on findings (limited travel)
Participate in annual budgeting activities and review invoice fees
Monitor capital needs, update schedules, and assist with property tax appeals
Who Is Our Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting is preferred
3–5 years of experience in Asset Management, Accounting, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience in real estate or property management environments is preferred.
Working knowledge of AI and business intelligence tools preferred
Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis and support data‑driven decisions
