The Role Be the fix-it hero who keeps our guest-facing facilities, employee housing, docks, salmon bake sites, and tour bases looking sharp and running smoothly all summer. From minor plumbing and carpentry to painting, pressure-washing boardwalks, and keeping the lights on during 20-hour daylight, you’ll tackle a wide variety of projects across our Southeast Alaska locations and ensure everything is safe, clean, and ready for guests and crew.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily repairs and preventive maintenance on buildings, docks, boardwalks, gift shops, kitchens, and employee housing
Handle basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and flooring repairs
Maintain salmon bake sites (fire pits, picnic tables, signage, trails, bear-proofing)
Pressure-wash, stain decks, repair railings, and keep exterior areas guest-ready
Minor HVAC troubleshooting, filter changes, and small-equipment repair
Respond quickly to staff and management repair requests
Assist with pre-season setup (furniture assembly, staging areas) and end-of-season winterization/button-up
Keep accurate logs of maintenance work and manage basic inventory of tools/supplies
Occasional light groundskeeping and snow removal (early/late season)
Requirements
3+ years of all-around handyman, facilities maintenance, or construction experience
Broad skill set: plumbing, electrical (120/240V), carpentry, painting, basic welding a plus
Comfortable working at heights (ladders, rooftops) and in outdoor Alaska weather
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (company vehicles provided)
Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work on your feet all day
Self-starter who can prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision
Positive attitude and willingness to jump in whereverli>
