Overview
Global Corporate Security Manager (Protective Services) role at Whirlpool Corporation. The Global Corporate Security organization seeks a leader to manage protective services, personnel security, and related programs. Reports directly to the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and is aligned under the General Counsel. The team is lean, comprising both insourced and outsourced talent, and collaborates with cross-functional partners for service delivery. Whirlpool regards security as a key driver of value and an enabler of performance. You will join and lead an established team dedicated to the global protection of employees, property, information, and reputation. This role requires influence, leadership, and daily management of contract staff/services, with development opportunities as the organization evolves. Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop, direct, implement, and continuously improve the organization’s protective services, threat management, and corporate campus security programs. Build high-performing teams. Align efforts with Whirlpool’s risk posture, culture, and business objectives. Create business cases for resource additions and manage a portion of the Global Corporate Security budget. Threat Management: Develop and implement processes to manage executive threat cases through intake, assessment, mitigation, and ongoing monitoring of persons of concern. Partner with HR, Customer Service, Communications, Information Security, and other departments. Obtain a Certified Threat Manager (CTM) certificate from the Association of Threat Management Professionals (ATAP). Brief senior leadership on high-risk threats. Executive Protection: Develop and manage Executive Protection policies and programs for the Chairman/CEO, Board members, and other executives. Be accountable for the security of the corporate campus, the CEO’s residence, the corporate aviation facility, and major corporate events/meetings. May conduct security advances and domestic/international protection operations with qualified suppliers and Whirlpool regional security teams. Coordinate with executive administrative staff and the Business Travel Center (BTC). Protective Intelligence: Partner with the GSOC Manager to optimize GSOC tools for emergency response, executive protection, event security planning, and threat management. Corporate Campus Security: Oversee physical and procedural security for the corporate campus, including guard force operations and emergency response. Oversee executive suite physical security, access control, and the emergency response program. Develop and own governance of the armed protective services program and use of force policy. Carry a firearm daily. Supervise the contract Guard Force Supervisor and lead a team of armed and unarmed Security Officers. Emergency Response: Coordinate the Corporate Campus All Hazards Emergency Response Program with EHS and Facilities, including plan development, ERT coordination, training and drills, local code compliance, and engagement with local first responders. Develop and coordinate executive suite active assailant response programs. Liaison: Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, Fire Marshal, and first responders. Provide campus tours and integrate emergency procedures with local authorities. Establish international law enforcement and intelligence contacts. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree 8+ years of combined experience with a major U.S. government law enforcement or intelligence organization and/or corporate security, including leadership/management roles 5+ years of experience providing armed dignitary/executive protection Ability to legally carry a firearm (CCW, Guard Card, etc.) Ability to lift and move 100+ lbs Valid and current U.S. Driver's License Valid Passport or ability to obtain a Passport Preferred Skills and Experiences
5+ years of professional experience with a Fortune 500 company 2+ years of international security experience Certification or training in security management and/or executive protection Active HR218/LEOSA credential and/or ability to obtain one EMT or Paramedic license What We Offer
