Non-Exempt Responsibilities

Gardening and maintenance activities such as planting, weeding, mowing, and pruning to maintain formal gardens, trails, and natural areas. (45% of time) Assisting with plant records maintenance, including data entry and inventory duties. (10% of time) Assist with special Garden projects and other duties as assigned. Position Summary

The responsibilities of Plant Records & Garden/Grounds Assistants involve gardening and maintenance activities such as planting, weeding, mowing, and pruning. This position also requires a moderate level of computer competence. Must be willing to learn plant record and inventory software and spend a significant portion of time at a computer, as well as in the garden. Assistants work alongside Garden Curators and Grounds Staff in maintaining formal gardens, trails, and natural areas gaining valuable hands‑on experience. Qualifications

Required:

Experience with Microsoft Excel and Teams. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Interest in and/or knowledge of plant identification is necessary. Physical Demands

Sitting while working on a computer for hours at a time is required when not outside. Working outside during adverse weather conditions. Physical activity including, but not limited to, mulching, weeding, raking, digging, and planting. Driving required. Background Investigation
