Tool, Die or Gauge Maker – General Devices Co. Inc.
Base pay range: $27.00/hr – $32.00/hr
Responsibilities
Plan, construct, alter and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and gauges to meet tolerances.
Perform development work and difficult machine operations, such as fitting, timing and adjusting.
Determine metal flow in dies, make tool try‑outs, diagnose and correct problems.
Perform die repair work.
Program CNC mill.
Plan job sequence to maintain even work flow throughout shop.
Read and interpret detailed drawings and prints.
Train, advise and direct other employees when necessary.
Own a full set of machinist tools.
Practice company and OSHA safety guidelines everywhere.
May be assigned work in other departments as needed.
Physical: ability to walk, stand, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, hand mobility, excellent eyesight.
Qualifications
Extremely positive attitude and willingness to navigate change.
Desire and potential to learn new skills and processes.
Treat others with dignity and respect.
Willingness to work with older machinery.
4–5 years minimum experience as a tool and die or gauge maker.
Extensive experience with metalworking tools including drills, milling machines, and grinders.
Knowledge of making tools, dies or gauges.
Excellent attention to detail.
Advanced troubleshooting skills.
