We are seeking a Travel ICU Registered Nurse to join our team in Utica, NY. Aya Healthcare has an immediate opening for ICU RN responsibilities in this assignment.
Overview Aya delivers comprehensive travel nursing opportunities with a focus on rapid placement, licensing support, and dedicated career guidance. This position offers a 13-week assignment with a 3, 12-hour shift (18:30 - 07:00).
Responsibilities
Maintain ICU patient care standards and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
Perform arterial line care/management, blood product administration, and high-level airway management (ventilated patient, endotracheal suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP support).
Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administer IV insulin protocols.
Provide care for surgical wounds/wound VAC and invasive line management (PICC, central line).
Ensure infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions are followed; utilize PPE as required.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care and support family education.
Qualifications
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Required Skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, arterial line management, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, GI surgery, central line care/management, ABG interpretation, PICC line management, ventilator management, infection prevention, isolation precautions, CPAP/BiPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, wound care, blood product administration, sedations and procedural monitoring as applicable.
At least one year of ICU experience is preferred.
