Surgical Technologist - Cardiac Open Heart
Job Description
This is a 13-week contract position as a Surgical Technologist specializing in cardiac open heart procedures. You will function as a vital member of the surgical team in the operating room, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). You will assist in providing care to patients of all ages, ensuring quality nursing care. Responsibilities
Assist in surgical procedures in the cardiac operating room. Provide care to patients across all age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Ensure sterile techniques and procedures are maintained. Collaborate with surgical staff and support a variety of provider specialties. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Current certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon. Completion of a surgical technology education program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or equivalent military training. Certification as a surgical technologist issued by the NBSTSA or completion of the educational program within the past twelve months. Minimum of one year scrubbing CVOR/Open Heart procedures or two years acute care scrubbing experience. Completion of 16 hours of continuing education every two years relevant to surgical technology. Preferred experience or training in computer applications. Schedule
