SAIC is seeking a
Mission Systems Engineer
with NRO experience to provide Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO’s space resiliency posture. The Mission Systems Engineer will work in a collaborative team environment supporting systems engineering, mission analysis, and transition activities to address some of the space community’s most challenging problems.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Perform analysis and evaluations of systems and track resulting metrics
Study and analyze a wide variety of interesting and complex problems
Assess relevant current and future technologies for insertion
Evaluate enterprise verification and validation testing
Review and analyze discrepancy reports
Assess labor, schedules, and resources required for integrating, testing, validating and transitioning systems
Capture and document lessons learned and best practices
Position periodically requires non-nominal work hours to support customer needs
Possible travel, depends on the specific need for customer supported
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Test engineering, or scientific/technical discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in engineering analysis (collecting, organizing, analyzing data) and/or mission/ops/ground support experience
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills
Strong written and interpersonal skills
Modeling and simulation experience using one or more of the following desired: C++, Python, R, SQL, PostgreSQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA, or STK
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment - along with initiative to take on independent projects
