Branch Operations Specialist Arvest Bank

The IAS Branch Operations Specialist ensures that existing controls are in place and are performed as required to prevent loss to the organization by conducting operational branch audits. The incumbent analyzes audit findings to identify trends and gaps, reducing material losses to the bank. This position requires extensive travel across the 4‑state footprint (Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma) and overnight arrangements.

Responsibilities

Perform audits in physical branches 3–4 days per week, traveling across the 4-state footprint with occasional multiple overnight stays.

Conduct evaluations of internal controls, determine compliance with procedures, and assess the effectiveness of operational processes.

Observe and objectively analyze associate and customer activity in retail branches to identify opportunities for improvement in procedures, processes, and internal controls.

Perform administrative tasks related to branch and cash audits, including creating and pulling reports, forecasting and scheduling, identifying branch operation trends, developing and reviewing scorecards, quality assurance, and imaging documentation.

Collaborate with branch leadership, Internal Audit, and Arvest Risk Management on findings, annual reviews, procedures, forms, and other matters to exercise effective and transparent enterprise risk management.

Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, including completing compliance training, adhering to internal procedures, reporting violations, and reporting suspicious activity.

Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Experience

2 years of experience in a retail banking environment or equivalent.

2 years of experience in cash handling or equivalent.

Thorough understanding of accounting concepts, bank operations, procedures, and internal controls.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates a high level of integrity.

Friendly and personable in interactions with internal and external customers.

Adapts to changing priorities and makes sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.

Wears region‑appropriate dress code at the operations center and when visiting banks.

Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.

Education

High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.

Working Conditions

Must be able to start work on time, maintain regular attendance, be physically present at the assigned work location, and occasionally work overtime or outside of regular business hours.

The job requires observation of details, communication, and accurate information exchange. Occasional physical movement and the ability to reach for objects may be required.

Must operate standard office equipment and use office applications for communication, information, and document transmission, and content, document, and report creation.

The essential duties occasionally require the associate to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Must operate a passenger vehicle and possess a current, valid driver's license.

Ability to travel overnight, unaccompanied, within the United States via automobile and air is required, no less than 75% of the time.

The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.

Pay Range $21.89 – $26.00 per hour
