Job Summary The

Materials Senior Project Manager

is responsible for ensuring District Information Technology Systems reliability and quality assurance in support of the District’s Supply Chain procurement process for Hospital Supplies. Frequently consults with IT in support of systems upgrades, systems maintenance and new software implementation. Assesses District-wide Supply Chain processes for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness leading to substantial annual cost reductions. Evaluates, proposes and leads Clinical Department expense‑reduction efforts relating to supply chain activities. Evaluates new Information Technology Systems and proposes strategic opportunities to enhance existing District Supply Chain Systems Platforms. Manages Materials Management Help Desk that supports District-wide users efficient use of Materials Management Systems.

Minimum Qualifications Education / Specialized Training / Licensure

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Systems or in Healthcare-related field with demonstrated proficiency in management of information systems, database applications and spreadsheet applications.

Master's Degree in Materials Management or Business Administration.

Work Experience

Eight plus (8+) years of experience in Materials Management, Healthcare experience preferred.

Six (6) years of experience working with purchasing and inventory management systems, database and spreadsheet application.

Five plus (5+) years of experience in business process improvement and cost reduction. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Management Experience

Five plus (5+) years of experience in Support Management Roles within Materials Management.

Equipment Operated

PCs, Equipment, Printer, Terminals.

Typical Duties That May Be Performed

Conducts strategic reviews of existing and future Materials Management software configuration requirements to support the needs of the growing Hospital District. Includes evaluation of new supply chain technology and requires attendance at important vendor software events.

Analyzes existing Clinical department supply chain processes, applies best practices and proposes enhancements to improve quality and efficiency, and cost effectiveness. Requires extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft Query Development and Table Configuration.

Provides daily oversight of all Materials Management Information Systems to ensure delivery of very high levels of reliability and quality assurance. Just‑in‑time operating environment demands consistently high levels of reliability and quality assurance; service levels must properly support patient needs at all times.

Acts as a central point of contact for all technical matters related to Materials Management Software Systems; a key district employee for technical matters. Analyzes issues, formulates corrective action and drives implementation.

Manages all matters related to the District’s Item Master File to ensure the highest possible quality and synchronization between the various Materials Systems that utilize the Item Master File.

Assists with the development of the Annual Capital and Operating Budget and conducts the related financial analysis. Conducts ROI analysis for MMA Capital Projects Zero‑base Operating Expenses to eliminate year‑over‑year waste.

Collaborates with IT technicians on Materials Management software troubleshooting, upgrades and implementations, requiring a strong IT skill set for direct collaboration with IT.

Proposes cost reduction projects and leads other departments through the phases of project development and implementation. Functions as a project consultant in support of departments impacted by supply chain throughout the District.

Prepares operational analyses and reports as required by senior management and other departments. Communicates results of operations using key metrics to Senior Management.

Oversees Materials Management Help Desk which provides district‑wide user support for all Materials Systems and addresses all elevated issues on an as‑needed basis.

Assists the Administrative Director with other special projects as needed.

Provides systems training to MMA staff and other district departments as needed, and technical training to MMA staff to improve staff efficiency and effectiveness.

Acknowledges all requests using ServiceFirst communication response to demonstrate professionalism in all activities when representing Materials Management.
