Description The School of Automotive at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for one tenure‑track Assistant Professor faculty position starting August 11, 2026. Remain abreast of recent developments and practices in the industry.
Obtain and/or maintain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) in assigned teaching areas if required.
Obtain and/or maintain training and credentials necessary for Program Accreditation.
Comply with Program quality assurance and assessment requirements.
Comply with all University and College policies and procedures.
Comply with all School guidelines.
Engage in other School assignments as determined by the School Director.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Earned Master's degree in management, business, education, automotive, engineering, or a closely related discipline, required by the time of appointment.
A minimum three (3) years of related experience in the automotive or mobility industries.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential for conducting and pursuing independent, externally funded research.
Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
