About the Role The Toddler Teacher is responsible for providing high‑quality, developmentally appropriate care and learning for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years. This role supports early brain development, attachment, and school readiness through responsive caregiving, nurturing relationships, and a stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safe, warm, and stimulating classroom environment.

Develop individualized care routines that support toddlers’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Collaborate with co‑teachers to implement developmentally appropriate activities.

Support strong family partnerships through daily communication and relationship‑building.

Maintain accurate documentation of feeding, diapering, sleeping, and developmental milestones.

Adhere to all licensing and program standards, including Head Start/Early Head Start and Educare.

Sanitize toys, materials, and classroom spaces according to health and safety protocols.

Support Conscious Discipline practices in age‑appropriate ways.

Follow lessons plan using the Creative Curriculum.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; CDA infant/toddler focused required.

Infant/Toddler coursework or certification strongly preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants in a licensed early childhood setting.

Experience with Head Start or Early Head Start programs preferred.

Must meet all state licensing requirements, including background check and medical clearance.

Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required to be obtained upon hire.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely move infants.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
