Job Description This Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Electrophysiology (EP) position is a part‑time role located primarily at the St. Luke's Plaza location. The primary patient population is adult. There is a weekend and holiday commitment for this role.
The employee will be responsible for the medical management of the Cardiology patient population within the scope of an Advanced Practice Provider. An Advanced Practice Provider includes Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Clinical Nurse Specialists. The employee must have completed a Master’s degree (or higher) and meet the requirements for the respective State Board(s) in Missouri and Kansas. APP will hold and maintain national certification and licensure as required by State Boards, Saint Luke’s Health System, and other mandatory certifications for this role.
Skills
Utilizes prescriptive authority in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations
Obtains and documents relevant problem‑focused or comprehensive history from patient/medical records in a timely manner
Communicates effectively using appropriate terminology, format, and technology in accordance with health system policies
Analyzes data to determine health status
Communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals
Performs an accurate physical exam
Demonstrates basic science and up‑to‑date clinical knowledge
Establishes a patient relationship characterized by mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration
Takes initiative for seeking opportunities to advance knowledge and experiences
Flexibility with scheduled rotations / locations as needed to ensure patient needs are met
Role Duties (May Include)
Completion of admissions, consultations, subsequent day visits and discharges in the inpatient setting
Independent practice in the outpatient clinic and/or inpatient setting and collaborating with physician(s) as appropriate
Ordering and management of appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies
This role may require training and competency for procedures applicable to the department of hire.
Job Requirements Applicable Experience: 1 year
Advanced Practice Provider Certification (MO/KS) – Various, Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
