Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess instruction aligned with Kansas College and Career Ready Standards (KCCRS) for English Language Arts.
Provide instruction in reading, writing, speaking, listening, language, and literature for grades 7–12.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, assessments, and technologies, including ITV when applicable.
Evaluate and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance in accordance with district policies.
Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to support student success.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and expectations.
Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and required school activities.
Supervise students and fulfill assigned duties (e.g., hall, lunch, study hall) as required.
Comply with all district, state, and federal regulations and policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience or credentialing to teach English Language Arts to grades 7–12.
Ability to plan and implement lessons aligned to KCCRS.
Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
