Summary Under the direction of the Director, the Echocardiographer operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment and produces cardiac images according to policy/protocol. Examinations performed include adult, stress, contrast, transesophageal, and pediatric echocardiograms. The candidate ensures a high level of quality in all exams and provides interpreting physicians with the necessary information to make accurate diagnoses. The role collaborates with other departments to provide timely and efficient procedures.
Education • Associate of Science degree in a healthcare field and successful completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program
• OR successful completion of a two‑year Echocardiogram training program
• OR eligible for on‑site training by obtaining a BS in a healthcare-related field with two years of cardiac‑related experience.
Licensure/Certification Must have current CPR certification and a valid Echocardiography license from the ARDMS or CCI. If not yet certified, must obtain valid certification within 12 months of graduation.
Experience Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Other Qualifications • Ability to image various anatomical structures and differentiate artifacts
• Must lift 75 lb alone and 150 lb shared
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient general computer skills and applications
• Ability to multi‑task, work independently, and use critical thinking skills
• Must cover call, weekends, and holidays.
Position Details
Part‑time – 2 12‑hour shifts per week (days)
Sign‑on bonus eligible
