Responsibilities
River Park Hospital, a 165-bed facility and a leader in behavioral health care, located in Huntington, WV has an opening for a PRN Therapist. River Park provides acute inpatient services to children, adolescents, adults and seniors and features a 22-bed residential treatment program for children and adolescents and a 25-bed adult forensic unit. River Park was recently recognized as a Top Performer by Joint Commission and maintains the highest standards for quality care.
Licensed Program Therapist: performs social services and psychotherapy functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while providing assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy treatment of individuals, couples, families, and groups to assist patients in achieving their optimal level of emotional health. The Program Therapist provides basic consultation, psycho-education, complete specialized clinical psychotherapy services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term family therapy. In addition, the Program Therapist will provide information and referrals as needed.
Qualifications Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Counseling, Social Work, or a clinical related mental health field.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in behavioral health with direct experience in family, group, and individual therapy, crisis intervention, treatment skills, and strong clinical assessment skills preferred.
License: Must possess a state license in counseling, social work, or clinical related mental health field. Additional Requirements: CPR certification and management of aggressive behavior (SAMA) training within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. May be required to work flexible hours.
