Responsibilities
Parkwood Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility) provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid‑South region. Established in 1987, it is located in Desoto County, Mississippi, 7 miles south of Memphis. Parkwood offers a full continuum of care for adults, adolescents and children, including a 148‑bed inpatient acute and residential facility, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Registered Nurse
Status: Full‑time
Hours/Schedule: 12‑hour shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
Rotating days
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health. The RN prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The RN may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.
Qualifications Education : Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program is required; BSN preferred.
Experience : One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
Licensure : Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, or multi‑state license approved by NCSBN.
CPR : Current CPR or BLS certification.
Knowledge : Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships, age‑specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management, and CPR training.
