East Tennessee State University is inviting applications for the Office Coordinator position in the Clemmer College of Education and Human Development.
Job Summary The Office Coordinator reports to the Dean of Clemmer College and provides essential support to the dean's suite, ensuring staff have the information and resources needed to perform their roles and advance the college's mission. The position involves outward‑facing duties, working effectively with people, and facilitating a highly collaborative environment for the college's constituents. The Office Coordinator may also provide independent advice and connect departments to relevant resources and services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of university policies and procedures
Knowledge of academic and administrative structure in a higher education institution
Knowledge of financial and personnel policies as it relates to local, federal, and state laws
Knowledge of budget management
Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
Knowledge of computers, current technology, and web applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Skills in event planning and production
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various internal and external constituents
Ability to work independently
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and other internal and external people
Ability to evaluate situations and make appropriate decisions.
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Ability to be proactive and prioritize among multiple tasks
Ability to seek clarification, feedback, and to provide thoughts and ideas for process and other improvements for consideration
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism with all associated duties
Ability to generate reports and set priorities
Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, direct, and evaluate policies and procedures
Ability to delegate work effectively.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum three (3) years of clerical/administrative office experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Five (5) or more years of clerical/administrative office experience.
