Position Overview As an Oral Surgery Assistant, you’ll work closely with our doctors to support all aspects of surgical care — from patient preparation and procedures to recovery and follow-up. This role is ideal for someone compassionate, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to build a rewarding career in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA guidelines.
Prepare and stock surgical rooms, sterilize instruments, and set up surgical packs.
Greet and seat patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort throughout the visit.
Take necessary x-rays or CT scans as directed.
Assist doctors during surgeries — anticipate needs, manage documentation, and support smooth workflow.
Complete patient records, prescriptions, and post-procedure instructions.
Assess patient readiness for discharge and assist with discharge procedures.
Dispose of waste and hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
Use practice management software for scheduling, registration, and check-out duties.
Participate in training sessions and staff meetings; help train new team members when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged standing and walking.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. and bend at the waist.
Comfort assisting in procedures involving bodily fluids.
Manual dexterity for instrument handling and computer use.
Desired Skills and Abilities

Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced setting.
Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow aseptic techniques and OSHA guidelines.
Basic computer and scheduling software skills.
Willingness to obtain CPR certification and learn emergency procedures.
Schedule Training will be required in Altoona, WI 4-5 days per week for the first 90 days.
Following training, you will be scheduled 2–3 days per week in Rice Lake, with additional hours potentially available for those willing to travel to our main Altoona location.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
