Job Title: 2 nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Location: Austin, TX (Manor, TX 78653)

Industry: automotive, manufacturing

Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire, hourly non-exempt

Shift(s): 2nd shift (2:30PM-10:30PM) plus overtime as needed

Reports to: Injection Supervisor

Press brands: Engel, Krauss-Maffei, Husky

Objective: Execute assigned predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities in a fast-paced, automotive manufacturing environment. Ensure proper functioning of production lines and compliance with 5s principles.

Responsibilities:

Make all necessary repairs and preventive maintenance checks for injection molding equipment; troubleshoot and diagnose repairs on all injection molding, robotic and assembly equipment

Diagnose and repair breakdowns to electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment

Diagnose and solve any type of electrical or electronic trouble with switchboards, test boards, motors, starters, switches, circuits and controls

Install conduit and wiring, piping for pneumatic or hydraulic systems

Build from wiring diagrams and sketches, large single phase and 3- phase equipment

Install and maintain a wide variety of complicated electrical, electronic transmission testing and Control equipment, single or 3 phase, up to maximum, voltage used plant and on injection equipment

Apply 5 “S” Standards to injection molding, robotic assembly, and robotic paint spray/application equipment

Weld and fabricate all modifications

Keep equipment clean and dust free

Responsible for rigging and moving machinery and accurate installation

Operate a variety of power tools including grinders, drill presses, saws-all

Keep up with existing changes in National Electrical code

Requirements:

4+ years previous experience maintaining high tonnage injection molding presses and related equipment

Experience troubleshooting and repairing issues with hydraulics, pneumatics, automated equipment, robotics, PLCs, HMIs, sensors and switches, motors, gears, drives, etc.

Basic manual machining skills (milling, grinding, welding)

Having a working knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens s7 troubleshooting, light modifications/edits), PCs, and robotics (Kuka or similar 6-axis robot)

Understanding of ISO 45001, 5001, 14001, and IATF 16949 requirements and standards

Physically capable of climbing over equipment, under conveyors, molds, and material handling systems

Capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs
