Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer will support the space program located in Houston, TX. Responsibilities

Plan, develop, review, and maintain requirements and verification plans. Prepare materials for system life cycle phasing, including SRR, PDR, and CDR. Identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses. Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that influence overall system design and performance. Utilize requirements management software and systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cradle, or Jama. Create and manage requirements for various projects, including flow down from NASA Program to contractor Project and interface definition between subsystems. Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and raise issues. Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

US citizenship or permanent resident status. Bachelor's degree in engineering. 10+ years of recent and related work experience. Experience leading technical teams. Experience designing and leading complex system development that includes both hardware and software configuration items. Experience leading development projects. Knowledge of the systems engineering process. Knowledge of the system lifecycle. Understanding of the space system certification process. Understanding of Design for Sustainment methodology. Knowledge and work experience in a Systems Engineering role in a NASA, DoD, or Aerospace environment. Experience with requirements management, verification and validation definition and execution, design trades, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware. Experience with concept development, concept of operation, operational concept definition, architecture definition, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware. Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings. Experience with design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware. Desired Qualifications

INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification. Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field. Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes. Working knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements. Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and SharePoint sites. Experience in technical or team leadership roles. Work Location

Onsite with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off; some travel may be required. Background Investigations

Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS. Must be team players with strong work ethic. Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers. Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives. Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements. Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
