Position Summary: Coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, or stain using spray gun. Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Responsibilities

Paints surfaces of aircraft parts, applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray painting equipment, power tools, and work aids. Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures; know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures. Strip, sand, mask, and repaint surfaces; manually blend finish to match surrounding areas. Regulate controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings. Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with industry standards. Record types and amounts of paints used for environmental regulation reporting; record completion of painting operations on planning documents. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by cleaning paint booth area and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well with co-workers, and follow work rules and procedures. Crosstrain in different processes within the department. Other various duties as needed or assigned. Position Requirements

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic computer proficiency; data entry into manufacturing software system. Language Skills: Ability to read and write English; ability to read instructions, safety rules, and manuals; ability to present information clearly. Physical and Environmental Demands: Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, grime, and heat; must wear PPE; lift parts, tools, and equipment; ability to work non-traditional hours (overtime, weekends, holidays). Personal Skills: Safety orientation; basic shop math and computer experience. Employment Information
