Summary The Electromechanical Technician supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and automated machinery. This role combines knowledge of electrical circuits, mechanical components, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation of industrial equipment. Daily tasks will vary day-to-day based on immediate need and scheduled maintenance, but can frequently include repairs, aesthetic work or tending to the facility's machinery.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and test electromechanical systems, components, and equipment.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to guide setup.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, motors, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using testing tools and diagnostic software.
Replace or repair defective parts and recalibrate equipment as needed.
Identify root causes of equipment failures and propose effective solutions.
Work with PLCs, basic control circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and automation equipment (depending on organization).
Conduct functional tests on repaired and installed equipment.
Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance.
Conduct functional tests on repaired and installed equipment.
Work closely with engineering, operations, and production teams to minimize downtime.
Provide technical support during system upgrades and new equipment integration.
Participating in a mandatory stretching exercise program
Follow all safety regulations
Receive directions and work orders from the assigned department supervisor
Review daily inspection sheets of equipment and make necessary repairs/recommendations
Repair all equipment, including splitters, saws, loaders, wrappers, quarry trucks, trailers and forklifts
Provide feedback to supervisors and operators on the improvement of PM tasks and maintenance operations
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and complete all necessary paperwork
Order parts, tools, and materials needed to repair and maintain equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Associate degree or technical certification in Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in electromechanical maintenance or industrial machinery service.
Strong understanding of:
Electrical systems (AC/DC)
Mechanical systems and assemblies
Sensors, relays, motors, actuators
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license with good driving record
Ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automated manufacturing environments.
Basic PLC knowledge (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Welding or fabrication skills.
OSHA or NFPA electrical safety training.
