We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized Staffing Scheduler to join our team. If you have a passion for creating efficient schedules and supporting a compassionate healthcare environment, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain staff schedules for all shifts and departments, ensuring adequate coverage to meet resident care needs and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records of call‑outs, tardiness, and early arrivals, tracking attendance patterns and assisting with payroll preparation.
Maintain open and consistent communication with HR regarding FMLA, non‑FMLA leaves, employee resignations, status changes, and other necessary information as it arises to ensure compliance and proper employee records.
Coordinate effectively with HR on employee retention and recruitment processes, assisting in identifying staffing needs and supporting strategies to attract and retain talented individuals.
Generate reports related to staffing levels, absenteeism, and overtime to assist management in decision‑making.
Address immediate staffing shortages by seeking available personnel, adjusting schedules, or utilizing agency staff as needed.
Collaborate with department heads to understand their staffing requirements and address any concerns.
Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) and company policies regarding scheduling.
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, and Administrator, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the facility.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work independently to manage daily tasks and priorities, as well as effectively work as part of a group to achieve common goals.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Certification is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with staffing schedules, preferably in a healthcare or similar environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with staff, management, and external agencies.
An inherent enthusiasm to learn new job functions and adapt to evolving responsibilities and systems.
Previous Long Term Care experience is preferred but not required, though a foundational understanding of the environment is beneficial.
Previous scheduling experience preferred, showcasing your capability in managing complex rotations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
