Global Clinical Trainer – Leadless Technologies
to join our Cardiac Rhythm Management division. The trainer will develop and deliver training content for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and Abbott Field Sales and Clinical Support teams, specific to CRM leadless therapies.
Responsibilities
Identify training needs and gaps through multiple input sources and develop content to train the field team on clinical competence, technical knowledge, resource utilization and selling skills, and to train HCPs to safely and effectively use leadless products.
Partner with Upstream/Downstream Marketing, Clinical, and R&D to capture training needs for upcoming product launches early in the development phase.
Evaluate current training content, identify potential gaps, and develop comprehensive product launch training programs for all offerings in person, digital, or virtual learning environments.
Collaborate with ProfEd and Field training leads to develop core training content deployable globally with minimal modifications.
Lead the consolidation of clinical usage data from pre‑commercial activities and product instructions.
Develop training content and programs to enable tracking and analytics; partner with ProfEd and Field leads to deploy tracking within their systems and review analytics.
Deliver training to the U.S. Abbott field team and provide train‑the‑trainer training for regional trainers.
Support national and local HCP training programs, demonstrating consistent educational effectiveness through systematic curriculum and program evaluations.
Collaborate with other Education Specialists and Trainers to employ a continuous improvement strategy aligned with key business objectives.
Engage with peers from Abbott divisions as guest speaker on new CRM products and share best practices.
Ensure positive customer/trainee/trainer experience and global message consistency at programs.
Maintain training content continuously to keep it current and relevant to trainee needs.
Drive a culture of best practices, technologies, and tools, applying adult learning techniques and instructional design principles.
Comply with global regulations, company policy, operating procedures, and task assignments.
Stay current on developments in the field, including product/therapy knowledge, market, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
BA/BS degree in biotechnology or a medical‑related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
5+ years of experience in Cardiac Rhythm Management or a similar role within the medical device industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cardiac pacing; field experience.
Experience with adult education and training, preferably for medical sales staff, physicians, or AHPs.
Experience with leadless therapies, specifically dual‑chamber.
Demonstrated knowledge of cardiology, electro‑physiology, or cardiac electro‑physiology procedures.
Familiarity with cath lab and operating room procedures and protocol.
Functional understanding of R&D, Program Management, and Marketing functions.
Affinity for educating others and ability to simplify complex topics.
Excellent computer and software skills in graphics, word processing, and authoring programs.
Experience creating multimedia, experiential, blended learning/virtual environment content.
Ability to apply fundamental concepts to conduct needs assessment, design training programs, and evaluate efficiency via data/metrics.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization and geographically diverse business environments.
Strong communication, project management skills to represent project status and deliverables to stakeholders.
Travel 75% travel required.
