Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Intake, the Intake RN is responsible for the timely processing of inquiry/referral calls, coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. Duties include triaging patients, completing assessments to assist physicians in determining an appropriate level of care, staffing clinically, entering calls and admissions in the computer, completing nursing admission paperwork with patients, and verifying prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed. The position interfaces closely with internal hospital staff, facility physicians, referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources, and communicates effectively with unit staff to facilitate patient placement.

Qualifications

Current license to practice nursing in Arizona or compact privileges.

Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting.

Must have or be able to attain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
