POSITION DETAILS The CUNY School of Medicine (SoM), located in the heart of Harlem, New York, is the only medical school in the City University of New York system and the only public medical school in Manhattan. Building upon 50 years of success as the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, the institution transitioned to the CUNY School of Medicine in 2016. The CUNY SoM offers an accelerated BS/MD degree (7-year program) and a Physician Assistant Master’s Degree (27-month program). The Academic Program Coordinator provides administrative support for the M1 Practice of Medicine's (POM) Longitudinal Clinical Experience (LCE) program. The role reports to the Associate Dean of Curriculum and Assessment. The administrative duties include coordinating student placement at LCE sites, maintaining attendance records, assisting in recruitment efforts to identify new LCE sites and maintaining relationships with current sites by communicating with Site Managers.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the duties include:

Communicate with students regarding LCE requirements and assessments.

Communicate with the Office of Student Affairs regarding student compliance responsibilities at sites, such as onboarding requirements.

Maintain student performance data for departmental reports.

Supporting the Practice of Medicine faculty with administrative tasks associated with the POM course sequence when assigned, such as scheduling POM course meetings, recording meeting minutes, and sending communications to attendees.

Create and edit POM related documents and presentations for assigned Practice of Medicine faculty.

Perform various administrative support duties, as assigned by managers, when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with MS Excel spreadsheet programming and maintenance.

Experience with Google documents such as Forms and Sheets. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and accurately complete tasks independently.

Two years of experience in the medical or allied-health education (preferably in a clinical setting) highly desired.

Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with all levels of faculty and staff, both within the School of Medicine, external clinical training sites and partners.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a college’s specialized academic program.

Manages office records including program files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities.

Serves as liaison on various college offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students.

Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards.

Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures.

Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary Range: $48,647-$82,297
