Account Manager – Life Sciences Research Sales, North Carolina The Account Manager is responsible for growth and expansion of direct sales and profit margins in North Carolina for LMS products and services. The role reports to a Regional Sales Manager and is part of the Life Sciences Research Sales team located in North Carolina. The position will be fully remote and require up to 60% travel.
Key Responsibilities
Develop sales strategies with your selling team to generate funnel and increase sales/marketshare of Leica products in assigned territory; recommend product, pricing, and sales promotion strategies.
Identify selling opportunities across product lines, with primary focus on lead generation in confocal and widefield product portfolios; lead team selling efforts in all assigned accounts.
Partner effectively with Sales Managers, PLT members, Customer Service Technicians and Representatives, Engineers, Accounting, and Manufacturing to satisfy customer needs.
Manage your pipeline from opportunity creation to closing, using Salesforce opportunity management, visual management of forecast and funnel, and executed next actions to move opportunities toward closing.
Work with customers and experts to generate field data and application notes that highlight product benefits and differentiate Leica products.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field (advanced degree preferred).
2+ years of successful selling technical products.
Demonstrated core understanding of microscopy, imaging, and applications.
Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of specific commercial, government, or university work environments.
Travel & Physical Requirements
Travel up to 60% – primarily daily, domestic travel with occasional overnight travel.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $80,000–$85,000. This range may be modified in the future. The role is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Comprehensive benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees.
