Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan (RN). Minimum of two (2) years RN experience in the past five (5) years with adult medicine patients on a medical/surgical inpatient unit or in a Medical Specialties Ambulatory Care Clinic (e.g., GI, Nephrology, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Endocrine, Allergy, Pulmonary). A minimum of two (2) years out of the last five (5) years of RN experience providing care to adult patients whose primary diagnosis is Endocrine in nature, including patients with diagnosis of diabetes, thyroid disease (hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism), adrenal gland disorders (Cushing’s syndrome, Addison’s disease), reproductive and growth condition (PCOS, menopause), calcium and bone disorders (hypercalcemia, osteoporosis), metabolic conditions (obesity and metabolic syndrome), or endocrine cancers and tumors. Proficiency with MiChart inbasket management or documentation of patient encounters in electronic health record, e.g., Epic as indicated by interviews, references, and/or performance evaluation in the past two (2) out of five (5) years RN experience. Experience providing patient/family education in past two (2) out of 5 years of RN experience. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by interviews, evaluations, and references in past two (2) out of 5 years of RN experience. Additional Requirements
BSN. Minimum of one (1) year out of the last five (5) years of RN experience in an Ambulatory Care Clinic. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDCES) certification or willingness to obtain CDCES within two (2) years of employment. One (1) year out of the last three (3) years of RN experience with telehealth and phone triage nursing, including patient triage and providing education by telephone or patient facing care.
