Overview
Clinician, Crisis Stabilization Unit, Weekend Day Shift (ACSW/AMFT) role at Bay Area Community Services (BACS). Amber House CSU is a 10-bed voluntary-only CSU whose purpose will be to assess individuals who are having a mental health crisis and are in need of assessment, stabilization, and brief treatment. The service is available to individuals for up to 24 hours. Amber House CRT has up to 14 beds for individuals in crisis who do not meet medical necessity criteria for hospitalization and would benefit from treatment and supportive programming. Responsibilities
Lead intake assessment, provide high-quality therapeutic interventions and services in support of an individual’s wellness and recovery, and participate in group counseling and milieu management. Deliver a full complement of services, including individual, family, group counseling, individual rehabilitation, and case management/brokerage for individuals within the assigned caseload. Utilize Evidence-Based Practice for the designated population/program to assure high-quality results and intended impact. Assess an individual’s risk status (risk-based symptoms, substance use, environment, complex physical conditions) and intervene appropriately. Assess continued service necessity and create a service plan that aims for client improvement and achievement of person-centered goals. Engage in continuous outreach, progressive engagement, and report disengagement to the team; work with the outreach team to determine when to disenroll individuals based on program protocols. Conduct domain-based assessment, screening referrals, service planning, community planning, and benefits coordination to support wellness and recovery principles; perform care planning and therapeutic case management with a whatever-it-takes approach. Document and maintain all data collection, reporting, and charting records in accordance with BACS and applicable county regulatory policies; ensure the required number of regulatory units of service per month (65% of time faces-to-face or other eligible community-based support). Participate in supervision, staff meetings, consultation, travel, crisis/emergency coverage, weekend coverage, and agency-wide meetings and training as required by the manager. Direct service experience with older adults, forensic/re-entry, TAY or adult populations. Assess strengths and needs in planning, provision, and documentation of individualized services; link to resources and advocate for clients. Work well with others, behave professionally and ethically, and develop professionally. Ability to work independently and as part of a therapeutic team. Adaptable and open to change; adjust behavior and work methods in response to new information and changing conditions. Balance the interests of diverse clients; readjust priorities to respond to changing client demands; commit to continuous improvement of services. Express facts and ideas clearly in writing and verbally. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and systems-based documentation platforms; document services effectively. Strong community connectedness to the BACS service area and reflect the BACS community. Qualifications
Master's Social Work (MSW), Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) or Master's in Practitioner in Clinical Counseling (MPCC) required. Associate ASW/LCSW or Associate MFT/Licensed MFT with current BBS registration. 2 years of social service experience required. Bilingual in a threshold language preferred. Valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance are required; DMV printout required. Local travel may be required; vehicle reimbursement is provided. Care Coordinators may be asked to transport clients in their personal vehicle. Benefits
Highly competitive compensation. $45/hourly for BBS registered ASW/AMFT and $104,000 annually (exempt) for LMFT/LCSW/LPCC. $2,500 hiring bonus — half paid after 90 days of continuous employment and the other half after 6 months. Additional language premium of +3% per hour for language ability in Chinese (Cantonese), Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Farsi, Cambodian and Tagalog. Fully paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage for employees and dependents. After one year of service, up to $3,000 per year for student loan payments, tuition reimbursement or CEUs, etc. Up to $15,000 over 5 years.
