Job Summary Pleasant View is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech‑Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team. As a Speech‑Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Your expertise and patient‑centered approach will contribute to the overall well‑being and quality of life of our patients.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing abilities
Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results, patient history, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals
Implement evidence‑based therapy techniques and interventions to enhance patients' communication and swallowing skills
Monitor and document patients' progress towards meeting therapy goals and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Educate patients and their families about their conditions, communication strategies, and home exercises to facilitate continuous improvement
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
Stay updated with the latest research and developments in speech therapy and evidence‑based practices
Maintain accurate and organized patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
Adhere to all regulatory requirements and guidelines pertaining to speech therapy services
Participate in team meetings, conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills
Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program
Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) preferred
Previous experience working as a Speech‑Language Pathologist is highly desired
Knowledge of and expertise in evaluating and treating a variety of communication and swallowing disorders across all age groups
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to determine appropriate therapy strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and colleagues
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team‑based setting
Proficient computer skills for documentation and record‑keeping purposes
Working Conditions The Speech‑Language Pathologist will primarily work in a clinical setting, serving both inpatients and outpatients. The position may require working some evenings or weekends based on patient and departmental needs.
