Position Overview The Inventory Control Assistant Manager assists the Inventory Control Manager in overseeing the facility’s inventory control department, including expediting, product placement, and maximizing cubic efficiency. The role holds others accountable to proper inventory practices and collaborates with leadership on other shifts and departments to ensure compliance with all protocols and SOPs, problem‑solve, and meet operational directives.

Shift Schedule

Nights: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Salary Base salary up to $70,000 annually, plus a 10% shift differential.

Responsibilities

Assist the Inventory Control Manager with day‑to‑day operations, including facilitating customer re‑shipment requests, removing roadblocks for the shipping department, acting as Quality Assurance for all other departments, and maximizing cubic efficiency.

Train, coach, develop, and hold accountable up to 30 employees to achieve operational metrics.

Prepare the facility for new inventory, collaborating with facilities to manipulate storage racking and eliminate dead stock.

Maintain inventory accuracy, complying with company policies such as cycle counts and audits.

Establish and maintain collaboration with procurement, emphasizing communication.

Ensure quality of receiving, stocking, and shipping processes through analysis and development of operational strategies.

Generate reporting to improve inventory accuracy; initiate and oversee improvement projects.

Ensure proper rotation of food products, issue accountability for mistakes, and communicate with procurement if issues arise.

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for the receiving department; identify and resolve operating issues.

Provide clear and frequent communication to all teams regarding company policies and procedures.

Lead weekly and monthly meetings to share metrics, improvement areas, employee relations issues, and updates on initiatives.

Assist in analyzing opportunities for improvement, including productivity growth, cost reduction, damage mitigation, and process efficiency.

People Management

Ensure timely completion of all employee performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Interact with employees regularly to promote engagement and compliance with safety regulations.

Promptly complete all administrative duties related to employee management.

Leadership

Collaborate with the leadership team to meet DC needs and foster team mentality.

Work with the Inventory Control Manager and Team Leads to create development plans for employees.

Maintain integrity and model core company values.

Serve as a leader for the assigned department and entire DC, holding peers, managers, and employees accountable.

Physical Requirements

Standing and/or walking up to 12 hours/day.

Effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.

Regular use of hands for grasping and manipulation.

Regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights up to 75 lbs.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of relevant operations leadership experience.

Experience in a distribution environment preferred.

Education Role does not require a degree. Relevant skills and experience, and alignment with core values above all else.
