We’re looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Fleet Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep and reliability of our fleet and equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in keeping equipment running safely, and wants to grow their skills in a fast‑paced shop and field environment. You’ll assist with preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trucks and specialty equipment while working closely with our maintenance team to keep operations moving.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and related equipment.
Support maintenance of systems including water pumps, vacuum hoses, tanks, PTOs, and heating systems.
Perform basic inspections of fleet vehicles (fluids, belts, hoses, tires, lights, fittings, and safety equipment).
Track and maintain electronic records of fleet and equipment inspections, services, and repairs using our online fleet management system.
Coordinate with mechanics, vendors, and suppliers for repairs and procurement of parts and equipment.
Help ensure DOT, CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program), and regulatory company documents are current and kept updated.
Support breakdown response and roadside repair coordination.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and facility grounds.
Follow all safety procedures, including fall protection, forklift/skid steer operating procedure, and lockout/tag out.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS
Fleet maintenance experience preferred, with exposure to vacuum trucks, heavy equipment, and hydraulic/mechanical systems.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs, inventory management, and safety regulations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to operate company vehicles and lift/move parts as needed, including operating equipment.
Proficiency in utilizing technology‑based platforms for all tasks.
Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team.
Demonstrates commitment to safety by following all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements, and proactively identifying potential hazards.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license (Class 3 or CDL with tanker endorsement preferred but not required).
Ability to meet company driver safety standards and pass an MVR check.
Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work involves prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, twisting, and lifting up to 80 pounds regularly throughout the day. Frequent overhead lifting is required. Employees may be exposed to a variety of weather conditions, as well as typical shop and garage environments such as noise, fumes, dust, grease, and oil. The role involves working around moving vehicles and heavy equipment.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full‑time position, scheduled for at least 40 working hours per week. The standard work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, aligned within a Sunday–Saturday pay period. Evening work, schedule changes, and on‑call response outside of normal hours may be required. Regular and consistent attendance is required.
