Pay Range Base pay range: $50,425.00/yr – $61,548.00/yr.

Duties Trades Generalist performs a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled maintenance repair, installation and construction tasks in the mechanical, building and electrical trades across multiple community residences and other buildings.

Carpentry related duties: installations and repairs of flooring, repair and adjustment of doors and hardware, stairs, railings, and replacement of ceiling tiles.

Minor electrical duties: replacement of receptacles, light fixtures, and circuit breakers.

Plumbing: repairs, installation and maintenance of fixtures and appliances, including sinks, showers, baths, commodes, dishwashers, domestic water and drainage distribution systems.

Painting: preparing surfaces, priming and painting.

Preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment such as bathroom exhaust fans, clothes dryers, sump pumps and generators.

Daily travel within the district; occasional travel within NY State to assist other districts with special projects.

Preferred Requirements

Working knowledge of trade methods, materials, tools and equipment.

Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Training and supervising others.

Training in the operation and maintenance of asbestos‑containing materials.

Planning, layout, time and material list preparation for projects.

Reading and interpreting plans, codes, diagrams, architectural blueprints and specifications.

Basic computer skills.

Valid NYS driver’s license.

Minimum Qualifications Four years of full‑time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson, providing training equivalent to a training, apprenticeship or equivalent program, or an equivalent combination of experience and training through technical courses at a school, institute, or branch of the armed services.

Valid New York State driver’s license if required to operate motor vehicles.
