Job Overview
DNA Production, LLC is looking to fill multiple Animal Scientist positions in Eustis, NE.
Responsibilities
Work with senior leadership to develop improved practices in feeding, housing, sanitation, and parasite & disease control of pigs, sows, or gilts.
Oversee feeding, watering, and ventilation systems and advise senior leadership about improved products and techniques that could enhance swine health quality and production.
Engage in assessment of animal health conditions, participate in administration of treatment and vaccines, oversee selection and movement of all animals marked or moved, and enter data regarding such assessments using a PDA or computer.
May engage in active participation in gruel feeding, mat feeding, and handfeeding, documentation of all sow and gilt activity on each sow card, and/or participation in estrus detection of sows and gilts and insemination of sows and gilts.
Assess animal selection and breeding practices to increase production efficiency and improve animal quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine, agricultural sciences, engineering, or an animal-based agriculture-related field (foreign equivalent accepted) plus 2 years as an animal scientist, farmworker, or related occupation, including 2 years experience working with commercial swine or cattle operations.
