Production Technician (6:50am - 7:00pm) INDEVCO Packaging Solutions in Orangeburg, S.C. is seeking a motivated Production Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The role involves machine set‑up, safe operation to meet production, waste, and quality targets, and troubleshooting when equipment is down or underperforming. The Technician will support plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.

Responsibilities

Work, act, think, and converse in terms of improving quality and eliminating waste in the process.

Stop operations that are not meeting customer expectations or violate approved quality and safety standards.

Set up machines to specifications outlined on the order copy and to standard set‑up time and procedure.

Operate machines to meet standard production and waste targets.

Assist maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance.

Collaborate efficiently with other divisions within the INDEVCO Group to drive improvements.

Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member.

Troubleshoot machines when down or not performing to standard.

Ensure day‑to‑day machine operation complies with policies and procedures of the Quality System.

Maintain an environment of teamwork focused on producing quality products.

Perform inspections per Quality Procedure and clean machine areas according to schedule.

Ensure preventive maintenance is performed according to the schedule.

Model safe operation by following established safety guidelines and holding self and others accountable.

Initiate and support improvement initiatives.

Use shop tools, hand tools, equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics for troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failures.

Implement 5S activities and follow all procedures.

Adhere to personnel processing practices in the IPO’s Food Safety Plan as determined by the Food Safety Management System.

Other duties as instructed by Supervisor, General Manager, and/or Production management.

Qualifications / Requirements

Basic understanding of computers.

Ability to meet production, quality, safety, and environmental targets (e.g., production plan performance, complaints, audits, Air Permits, Waste, Storm Water).

Basic understanding of all machine functions, printing, inks, mounting plates, extrusion, and reading of tape measures.

Reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

Physical ability to lift 40–50 pounds occasionally and use hoist equipment if available.

Work is medium difficulty.

Physical Demands Work is medium difficulty; shafts may be controlled by hoist equipment if available. Ink buckets lifting required on occasion, not exceeding 40–50 lbs.
