Overview
The Manager in Training is responsible for assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager regarding overall operations and administrative duties. The Manager in Training is knowledgeable in each product area or department in the store. Assists in determining the methods and approaches necessary to accomplish the store's goals and initiatives. Upholds policies, procedures and standards listed in the visual manual. They promote each sale and/or promotion and serve as an ambassador of Hibbett, creating a unique customer experience and helping to acquire and retain customers. The Manager in Training is focused on delivering outstanding customer service and promoting merchandise in the store. The Manager in Training assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence and is trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett. Consult with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary. Be aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments. Direct staff to ensure each department\'s responsibilities and standards are completed. Keep the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends. Ensure quality customer service is maintained. Perform general administrative duties as needed and be trained in the Store Manager\'s responsibilities. Produce and deliver extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, including assisting customers as they enter the store and assisting multiple customers during peak periods. Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett. Practice and uphold all Hibbett policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the manuals and memos with the company\'s direction. Protect the company\'s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management of potential fraud risk.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises employees in the absence of the Store Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization\'s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel. 1-3 years of customer service experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits. Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked. Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision. Team-player with a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
