The English Department offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses to meet the needs of students with a diversity of interests and backgrounds. By studying literature, critical theory, rhetoric, composition, and creative writing, students in the Department of English acquire experience in intertextual and cross‑disciplinary inquiry represented by many cultures and historical periods. They learn critical approaches to texts and issues that enable them to interpret and compare positions; to read closely, critically, and with empathy; to conduct research; to weigh evidence; and to write with insight and expertise.
The Creative Writing program is looking for qualified adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Nonfiction Writing. Courses include:

Wr 428 Advanced Media Writing
Wr 456 Forms of Nonfiction
Wr 457 Personal Essay Writing
Wr 458 Magazine Writing

Wr 507 Nonfiction Seminar
Wr 523 MFA Core Workshop in Nonfiction
Wr 528 Advanced Media Writing
Minimum Qualifications All courses: Masters or PhD in Nonfiction, Journalism, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications For 300 and 400‑level courses: Two quarters of demonstrated successful teaching of college level nonfiction writing and significant publications in the genre.
For 400‑level courses: One year demonstrated excellence in teaching nonfiction writing at the college level, and significant publications in the genre.
For 500‑level courses: Experience teaching at the graduate level.
