Overview House Manager – Olympia, WA. Full Time. Shifts Needed: AM Shift. Work Hours: Monday–Friday. Hourly Rate: $24.00–$26.00. Summary:

This position is responsible for day-to-day oversight and support of residential services, including training staff, ensuring clients’ needs are met, and maintaining quality home environments. The House Manager ensures regulatory compliance as mandated by Policies and Procedures, state requirements, and agency expectations. The role maintains client health, safety and well-being; communicates with conservators and outside agencies; manages staffing and labor hours; and trains and mentors direct support professional staff.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day oversight and support of residential services, including staff training and supervision.

Ensure clients’ needs are met, maintain quality home environments, and uphold regulatory compliance.

Maintain health, safety, and well-being of clients; communicate with conservators and outside agencies; manage staffing and labor hours to ensure quality care.

Train and mentor direct support staff; attend scheduled meetings with agencies; coordinate inspections and unannounced visits.

Work with training department to ensure staff complete required trainings (e.g., Nurse Delegation, Core Training, CPR/FA).

Monitor and supervise Lead and Direct Support Staff to ensure client participation in activities and achievement of goals in their Support Plans.

Protect client rights, provide choices, manage client funds and review petty cash for accuracy.

Ensure transportation for emergencies, medical appointments, therapies, work, and activities.

Maintain client records and documentation to company standards; oversee compliance checks and medication audits.

Coordinate new hire training, staff development, and progressive discipline with supervisory staff.

Respond to client emergencies and incidents; communicate with Program Management as required.

Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure quality resident care and proper staff ratios.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills; ability to interact respectfully and provide clear feedback and direction.

Time management and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and respond to inquiries within 24–48 hours.

Understanding of applicable DDA policies, Client Rights and Responsibilities, and mandated reporting.

Proven ability to work in a crisis or high-pressure environment and collaborate with stakeholders.

Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; adaptability to changing technology.

Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to draft routine reports and communicate with various agencies and families.

Licensing/Training: pass Washington State background check; maintain active certifications (e.g., CORE training, Nurse Delegation, CPR/First Aid); obtain CPI blue card as required.

Work Environment This position is in the field; work is high-pressure and may require attention after traditional work hours. Occasional exposure to outside weather and interacting with clients who may exhibit challenging behaviors is possible. Safety and compliance are emphasized.

Physical Demands Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, hear; use hands; reach; occasionally climb or balance; lift up to 50 pounds; vision requirements include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Information Work Hours: 07:45am–4:00pm; OT requires Residential Director approval. On-call rotations may apply. Travel to multiple sites may be required as part of field duties.
