Crew member essential to application of asphalt on highways, private roadways, parking lots, and driveways, operating screed controls. Key Duties

Operator on the asphalt paver making normal adjustments for proper depth, grade, and finished cross section of asphalt material via screed extensions. Collaborate with other crewmembers to apply asphalt per plan specifications and perform tasks of other positions as instructed by the crew foreman to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met. Follow all company policies and procedures for safe work practices. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager. Be flexible with last-minute schedule changes, location changes, and shift changes. Overtime work may be required. Out-of-town work may be required. Follow Traffic Control instructions and safety standards per Company Safety Policy. Adhere to PPE policy and maintain PPE in functional condition as supplied by the company. Other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements

General: Ability to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Education and Experience: Not an entry-level job; requires demonstrable experience as a Screed Operator. A high school diploma or GED preferred. Three to five years of industry-related experience with emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges. Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees. Knowledge of signals used to communicate with construction machinery. Physical Demands: The following are representative of the physical requirements and work environment for a Screed Operator. Includes lifting/pushing, sitting, standing/walking, climbing, crawling, bending, kneeling, hearing, and other job-related activities. Requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and near heavy equipment; exposure to grease, dust, and other site substances. Work Environment & Safety

Work is outdoors in all weather conditions and near heavy equipment. Noise, grease, and dust are common on construction sites. PPE must be worn and maintained. Company safety policies apply. Benefits
